Dean’s Message

Dr. Darryl Frazier

I am delighted to welcome you to the School's web site. We hope that our site will provide the information you are seeking. The School of Professional Studies (SPS) mission is based on the premises that all persons throughout their lifetime, should be provided with the opportunity to gain knowledge, develop their creative potential, and become a more productive citizens that seek to serve the total University by providing educational services to the nontraditional student. We are looking to extend the resources of the University to a wide range of individuals, special interest groups, and targeted audiences not otherwise served by on-going programs, certification and training. Programs within the school are specifically directed toward those individuals who are working adults who need a non-traditional course schedule at off campus locations and/or weekend/evening courses on-campus.

The School of Professional Studies seeks to serve the University by providing educational services to the traditional, non-traditional and adult learner student.  Our school seeks to expand the avenues of academic success by which the University enriches, expands, and extends its primary missions of teaching, research and community service. Programs within the School of Professional Studies seek to educate and prepare professionals, educators and leaders to investigate and solve domestic and global issues. The Liberal Studies major allows students to create an individualized curriculum composed of courses and experiences which meet their individual career needs. The Professional Studies Program has helped hundreds of people in the Northeast Florida area become successful, designed for busy adults, this program delivers undergraduate degree programs that prepare you to succeed in life — wherever it takes you.

The faculty and staff are here to meet the needs of students, provide individualized attention, and to ensuring that each student experiences a quality educational experience that will enhance career and life.

Bethune-Cookman University President Dr. Edison O. Jackson has accepted the ALS challenge from Embry-Riddle University President Dr. John P. Johnson to raise funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) research.
