Career Services
The Career Services Office serves to assist the University student in understanding and exploring the varying dynamics of career education and changing trends in today’s job market. The primary focus is on assisting students in finding part-time employment while matriculating at B-CU.
This office provides the following:
1. Career Exploration interest inventories, which assist the student in formulating values and goal setting/decision making.
2. Assistance in the job preparation process, i.e. Interviewing Skills, Resume Writing, Networking and Career Occupational segments.
3. Assistance to students and alumni in obtaining employment commensurate with academic preparation.
Three major components of this area:
• Graduate/Professional School Day
• Career Fair
• Teacher Recruitment Day
4. Interviews are also available through various companies during the fall and spring semesters. Students are selected for these interviews based on classification, major and in some cases, grade point average. Each company maintains their own criteria for interviewing and job selection.
5. The Career Placement Office also serves as the primary entity for Internships/Cooperative Education. To qualify for various internship sites within Volusia County and nationwide, students must submit internship applications to the Career Counselor.
