Students that enjoy helping others often become a peer counselor. A peer counselor’s primary role is to assist new and transfer students to make a smooth transition from high school to college. Additionally, peer counselors serve as mentors and provide small group discussions in the residence halls.
Orientation Leaders assist with the New Student Orientation Programs in the spring, summer and fall. These students serve as mentors, workshop leaders, and tour guides. They also provide assistance with new student registration.
Parent involvement is key to student success. Through the Parent Association, parents have an opportunity to become involved andhelp improve the overall quality of their son’s or daughter’s college experience. Parents also have an opportunity to learn more about the University and may suggest strategies on how to support their young adult in becoming a successful student at Bethune-Cookman University.
