Federal Work-Study Rules and Regulations
- The student must report to their assigned designated work site on the date given by your Supervisor
- You will only be paid for the number of hours worked up to a maximum of 15 hours per week. Students must report to work on time.
- You must sign in and out on a time sheet prepared by your supervisor each day when you report to work.
- It’s your responsibility as a student worker to call your supervisor if you are ill, running late or unable to work on any given day of the week.
- Students must sign the work study timesheet; failure to do so will result in a delay of your monthly paycheck.
- At no time are students permitted to sign your supervisor’s signature and/or make any changes to the time recorded on your time sheet. Doing so, will result in an immediate termination from the work study program.
- Once hired, student must remain at the assigned work site for the entire academic year. Changes will not be made unless requested by your supervisor.
- Insubordinate behavior will not be tolerated. Letters of dismissal, phone calls, and problems of concern from supervisors may result in the student being terminated from the Work Study program. Upon termination, you will not be reassigned to another work-site while you are enrolled as a student at Bethune-Cookman University.
It is the supervisor’s responsibility to make sure the monthly time sheets are completed and delivered to the
Office of Student Accounts attention Payroll Office by the deadline. Failure to return the time sheets to
the Payroll Office by the due date will result in a delay in student receiving his/her pay checks.
