Media Policies and Contacts

Bethune-Cookman University welcomes the opportunity to assist the media with stories that help to advance the understanding of higher education, liberal arts education, campus life, and coverage of university events.

The media are regularly welcomed to campus events such as community forums, sporting events, exhibitions, commencement exercises, and press conferences.  Such media invitations are extended by the Office of Public Relations, the Sports Information Office, or the President’s Office.

Because Bethune-Cookman University is a private institution, we require that members of the media secure approval and assistance of the B-CU Office of Public Relations before coming onto campus to photograph, record, or interview faculty, staff, students, and guests.  This policy helps the University conduct its educational mission in an orderly and effective manner while protecting the rights, privacy and needs of its students, faculty, staff, and guests.

We also request that members of the media contact the Office of Public Relations with any request to interview members of the B-CU community or for official University comment on a pressing issue.  This will expedite response to such requests.
